GAD-Enhancing Lesion Count: Observations per Patient

Gadolinium (GAD) enhancing lesions are a key component of identifying active disease, measuring disease progression, and monitoring treatment success.
Number of GAD enhancing lesions has been extracted for over 2,700 patients in the OM1 PremiOM MS dataset, resulting in nearly 7,000 unique observations.

Enriched | Estimating Disease Activity

The Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) is a validated, clinician-administered scale used to measure MS disability. The EDSS is widely used in clinical trials but its use in clinical practice is limited due to the complexity of scoring and time required.

Introduction of eEDSS expands availability of EDSS to 71% of the PremiOM Dataset, and increases the median number of EDSS scores available to 8 observations per patient.

OM1 has developed proprietary machine learning-based technology to provide estimates of the Expanded Disability Status Scale (eEDSS).

Amplification of 1) the number of patients with EDSS scores and 2) the number of EDSS scores per patient greatly improves the ability to track disease progression.

Representative | MS Subtype

MS Subtype is a critically important disease characteristic for understanding the patient journey, measuring disease progression, and accurately interpreting analytic results.

MS Subtypes, Relapsing Remitting (RR), Primary Progressive (PP), Secondary Progressive (SP), and the transition from RR to SP are available for over 6,300 patients in the OM1 PremiOM MS dataset.

Average EDSS + eEDSS Scores by Age

These figures show the combined EDSS and eEDSS scores of patients stratified by MS subtype and highlight that disability level is comparable or higher for SP-MS patients than among RR-MS patients, at all ages of disease.

Robust | Analyzing Relapse Rates

Relapses are an important outcome for identifying disease progression and greatly impact patients’ quality of life. Relapses in RR-MS patients can indicate disease progression and greatly impact patients’ quality of life.

The OM1 MS PremiOM Dataset includes relapse events for nearly 10,000 patients. Relapse events are identified through clinical note abstraction and application of operational definitions.

Longitudinal | Disease Progression over Time

While there is utility in each clinical assessment of disease, the true value of Real-World Data shines when these assessments are linked together through time, generating a patient journey.

Outcomes within the OM1 PremiOM MS dataset are as longitudinal as they are robust, creating a platform with the ability to analyze disease progression.

More than 13,500 patients in the OM1 PremiOM MS dataset have 2 or more EDSS or eEDSS scores available, with nearly 6,000 patients having 10 or more.

The average time between first & last scores (i.e. longitudinality) of EDSS/eEDSS scores within the dataset is 43 months, and over 3,000 patients have scores that span 5 or more years.

Clinically Deep | Treatment Patterns

Linkage to pharmacy claims data generates insights into treatment patterns among subcohorts of patients in the OM1 PremiOM MS dataset.

Fingolimod and natalizumab, which target reduction in relapses and inflammation, are observed most among patients who have ever had RR-MS.

Siponimod and ocrelizumab, used to delay disability, are observed most among patients who have progressive disease.
